Why is it important to choose Perfect turf over a cheap overseas imitation product?

Just like several other products available to consumers today, we are starting to see the growth of cheap overseas imitations in the synthetic grass industry. Many times the upfront cost might be slightly less for these inferior products, but it does come at a great long term consequence. Below we have pointed out what makes Perfect Turf the better choice and what problems can derive from going with a cheap imitation product from overseas:

1) Since 1987 our manufacturer has been making the highest quality synthetic grass in the world! All overseas manufacturers are very new to the industry and do not even know themselves how long there products will stand up over time. Without the research and experience in the manufacturing process it is hard to know how long these products may last!

2) All Perfect Turf is manufactured in North America and built to handle the extreme temperature changes that occur in Canada. Overseas products are not built to handle the cold temperatures that we get in Canada, therefore causing many problems when introduced to our weather and seasonal temperature changes. This can include premature material breakdown and poor dimensional stability causing wrinkles and seam rupturing.

3) We have the best warranty in the industry and we stand behind it. Many of these overseas manufacturers are only a year or two old, so who is to say that they will be there in 5 years should a warranty claim be required? These manufacturers seem to come and go quite regularly. We have already heard of many warranty problems arising from the use of these overseas products and many have come directly from the people selling and installing it themselves. In these instances not only has the turf needed to be replaced but what has happened is a very long and painful process for the turf owner. The turf must first be removed and sent to the manufacturer for warranty verification. One can only imagine how long this takes to ship the turf back to China or wherever it may come from, and usually this shipping is at the turf owner's expense, which is not cheap. If the warranty claim is approved now the replacement turf must be shipped back, again at the owner's expense and reinstalled. Most times this process can take over 3 months, leaving the home owner with a gravel yard for this entire time. We can honestly say that across Western Canada we have only had 1 warranty claim in the last 5 years. We have been around and will continue to be there for you in the future. A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it.

4) All Perfect Turf has undergone many years of extensive research and development, including stability and wear resistance testing. Perfect Turf is Lead Free! We have the most stringent lead testing in the industry. Most overseas turf is not ASTM certified and does not pass the required testing if attempted. Many of these products cannot pass because of their lead content and others simply because there countries safety standards are not up to par with Canada's standards. This could cause danger to your children and or pets.

5) Perfect Turf uses only the highest quality components to produce the most reliable, highest performance and longest lasting turf in the world. No short cuts in material or workmanship are ever taken to cheapen the price and make you think you are getting a "deal". The single largest reason why overseas turf is sometimes cheaper in price is simply because of the short cuts that are taken to produce the turf, not to mention the sometimes unbelievable working conditions.

6) All Perfect Turf installers are Certified Installers of synthetic grass and have the experience to back it! Most all companies that are selling and installing these poorly manufactured overseas products have not had any formal training with regards to the installation process. So now, not only is the turf of poor quality so too is the installation. A project is only as good as the installation, if it is not installed properly it doesn't matter how good or bad the turf material may be.

7) How can you tell if the turf is manufactured overseas? Almost always the turf rolls are 12' or 13' wide. North American made products are almost always 15' wide. It may come with a green backing instead of a black backing and a lot of time it may have a very distinct funny odour. If you are still unsure if it is a quality North American made product simply ask the company if they can provide you with documentation that the product is made in North America.
